Here at Brigstock Primary all staff are committed to promoting and maintaining the wellbeing of all our students. As the Family Support Worker my role is to liaise closely with all staff within the school and with parents to identify and support the children’s wellbeing. A child who feels safe and happy is a child who will be ready to fulfil their potential.
What I can offer support with…
Sometimes life can throw families a variety of challenges, both currently and in the past. These can sometimes have short or long- term effects on children. By supporting children who are experiencing difficulties, we aim to mitigate long-term effects.
How I can help:
- Sign-post and provide information to local support services.
- Provide 1:1 sessions with children.
- Offer a listening ear for parents.
- Provide advice for parents to implement at home.
- Work with school colleagues to co-ordinate referrals to support agencies where necessary.
