We spent time on Wednesday enjoying our map work focus. We looked at the different kinds of maps and looked at examples of physical maps, political maps, maps that showed climate zones as well as satellite maps. We then looked at a topological map and discussed that this is a type of diagram that has been simplified so that only vital information remains. These maps lack scale, distance and direction but the relationship between points is maintained. We spent time looking at the London Underground map identifying different stations and how we would travel from one to another. We also talked about OS maps and the symbols that are used.
