As it was Foundation Day, Maple Class also devised a simple map. Year One made a messy map of our class room. They used different materials to represent tables and chairs and the snack trolley. They discussed what their key of their map would look like. Year Two had a map of our local village. The children had to locate seven places found in the village on the map. Next they had to record these on their own maps as symbols which they had to add to their key. They also recorded whether these were human or physical features – phew!
