Well done to Lily, who painted a beautiful picture in response to our ‘Brigstock 400’ project. It shows our village through time, from a 1620 ‘Boys Only’ school room to Education for all in 2020.

Her work was chosen to be published as the Christmas card for the Diocese and it will be sent out to all schools in the diocese in December.

Well done Lily, what a fabulous achievement!

Our children have worked hard to ensure that we marked Remembrance in so many thoughtful and meaningful ways. All of our children have written about the importance of Remembrance and this year we felt it was so important to mark this event, even with the current restrictions. Each bubble has visited the memorial, and shared reflections, poems and prayers. We have been very proud of the respect and thoughtfulness shown by every group of children.
The wreath was laid by the Holstein family at our school service, and we remembered every fallen soldier from Brigstock at the memorial. We have also created artwork and postry that has been shared outside on the front bank of the school.

This year we have been unable to share our Harvest in assembly, but we have had a wonderful display of harvest produce that has been brought into school. Our pupil leadership team have organised all the produce into harvest boxes and this week we delivered around the village. We have had so many lovely comments from our residents, praising the children and thanking the school for their kindness.

The pupil leaders have felt rightly proud of their organisation:

“I am so happy that we could go and deliver. I feel proud that we made so many people so happy.”

“I feel quite emotional about how pleased they were to receive the Harvest boxes.”

The leadership team are now looking forward to planning a memorable ‘Remembrance ‘ for the school and village communities.
