Our wonderful children came up with the idea of sending some joy around the village. We created 'Bags of Joy', with a flower for the garden, a painted stone, a message and a card. We delivered carefully, wearing gloves and observing social distancing. The bags brought joy to everyone and we have received so many grateful messages from residents of the children. We all felt so, so proud of our children responding so thoughtfully at this difficult time.

Everyone really enjoyed the annual Pancake Race, and we all had lots of fun racing in our year groups. We had to flip the pancakes three times on each lap. Lyveden emerged as the winning house, and everyone really enjoyed the afternoon. Special thank yous to our Sport Captains, Eliza and Isaac, for running the afternoon event, and to Mrs Boyers for making the pancakes. Well done to everyone!

We all enjoyed celebrating World Book Day, and everyone amazed us with their creative costumes. All of our Key Stage 1 children had Book Breakfast in the classroom (served by Peter Pan and a ticking Crocodile!). Key Stage 2 children were joined in the hall for Book Breakfast, and we want to thank everyone for joining us to share  special start to the day. We shared our costumes with each other in assembly, and we hope that we have inspired each other to read new books and re-visit old favourites.

“Dresssing up for our last year was really good. It was fun to share book breakfast and read lots of stories with friends and family.”

“It was good to share our favourite books and we all enjoyed looking at the costumes.”

“The costumes made us think about new stories. I definitely want to try some of the books.”
