Uniform, PE Kit and Jewellery
Children are positively encouraged to wear uniforms as follows:

Reception children are encouraged to wear trousers/skirts with elasticated waist for example jogging bottoms.
Uniform can be ordered online via the school website, www.brigstockschool.co.uk. School book bags can be bought from the school office.
All items of clothing must be clearly marked with your child’s name.
Your child will require a pair of plimsolls, a pair of dark shorts (black or navy) and a plain white tee shirt. These should be kept in a drawstring bag and be clearly labelled. For outdoor PE your child will also need a jogging suit or tracksuit and trainers.
If your child goes to football club they will need football boots and shin pads. They may wear their own kit for club sessions.
Children selected to play for the school teams will be provided with school kit.
All children should have swimming caps available from the school, girls should wear standard costumes and boys should wear trunks, not shorts.
The school uses the East Midlands International Pool in Corby. Children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 go weekly for three half terms.
Swimming lessons are part of the curriculum and all children are expected to participate. A voluntary contribution towards travel costs is requested. If your child is absent from swimming for any reason, a letter of explanation must be sent to the school. Qualified instructors teach the children and lifeguards are on duty at the pool. The children have the opportunity to gain various swimming awards. Watches and earrings should not be worn on swimming days.
Children should not wear jewellery in school If your child wears earrings they should be a single stud for their own safety. No child is allowed to do PE or swim whilst wearing jewellery. The school cannot be held responsible for items of jewellery either misplaced or lost. If children cannot remove their own earrings please check their PE days and do not put earrings in on those days.
